OVERVIEW
Focus on the Arts (herein FOTA) is arts mission. It is conceived to
bring together individuals and groups to engage in local-global humanitarian
activities through free exercise of the arts and immersion in especially
non-western traditions. Our hope is that this will increasingly return
the spiritual to worldwide Christian arts in the 21st century. Historically,
Christian arts tell that from the Middle Ages through the Renaissance,
even during the Great Reformation of the Mother Church, the artist’s
talen is from God, so must remain subservient to the function of the
God’s Kingdom work. Today, except in music, most other arts seem
to be loosing grips of this eternal reward. Conveniently, the arts open
both the eyes of the heart and soul. King David, despite his great height,
never departed from the use for that (with his faith) was what brought
him from the graze land to kingship over his people. We, therefore,
reason that the arts can still in our times be used to teach, and preach,
even bring down God’s healing, when done most Biblically. Our
will is to accomplish these by building bridges and collaborations with
individuals and groups across world cultures and by mentoring, training,
friendship and networking that we may give into God’s work our
God’s given talens. It is a horrendous work of challenges and
possibilities; but this is our chance, tomorrow promises no one.
MISSION

The mission of FOTA is, therefore, to enlighten and exhort the gentle
art and science of free exercise of the arts to bring the lost back

faith and Christian artists, friends of Christian arts, organizations
and others worldwide, developing local-global connections and innovative
ways of sharing knowledge, information and skills through immersion
in both Western and non-western traditions, promoting cross-cultural
dialogues and tolerance of free exercise of the arts.
